Road along the Loch Alsh in the Scottish Highlands, with the Sky

The lakes in Scotland are typically long and not very wide, and with roads on their shores, high up on the hills, there are some spectactular views that are available. This is a view of Loch Alsh, and the great architecture of the Skye Bridge which connects with the Isle of Skye, with the A87 being the highway on this route.
The Skye Bridge was built in 1995 replacing a ferry, but the bridge soon became controversial due to the tolls on the bridge which were very controvserial and became a political and social issue with a number of travelers refusing to pay these tolls. Finally, after the transfer of power regarding the road networks to the Scottish Parliament, the bridge was bought over from the private company running the tolls in 2004, and the toll collection was brought to an end.
