River Ness near the Ness Islands in Inverness in Scotland

River Ness near the Ness Islands in Inverness in Scotland

The River Ness flowing in Inverness, with one end of the Ness islands being visible to the left side. The land from which the photo is being taken is that of the shore of the river and if you look carefully to the left, one end of the Ness islands can be seen in the photo. The River Ness flows from the Loch Ness through Inverness and to the Moray Firth (an inlet of the North Sea). It flows right through the heart of Inverness and is exceedingly beautiful. There are many bridges that cross the River Ness in Inverness, and a bit upstream of the center of the town lie these incredibly beautiful river islands in the river. These islands are connected to the shore and to each other through small suspension bridges, and provide an excellent walk through nature, with the islands being rich in greenery, with diferent families of plants and trees. These walking paths are very popular with tourists and with locals.
