Statue of the Merlion with a banner below the statue and viewing

The Merlion lion statue is one of the landmarks of Singapore. In the mouth of the statue is a nozzle through which the famous water flow comes from the statue. Below the statue is a banner that invites the visitors to attend the 40th anniversary of the statue.
The Merlion statue was inaugrated in 1972 to server as a landmark of Singapore, a symbol that would serve as something that visitors would remember. In the background is a building and the lighting equipment that is along the Formula One track.
To the right side of the photo is the viewing platform where tourists can see the Merlion lion and take their photos with the Merlion statue in the background. The viewing platform is located on the river.
